I%26#039;m 19 and a full time student with a steady job for the past 2.5 years. I have absolutely no credit at all and my older car is back im the shop and this isnt the first time either. Basically, I need a better reliable car, preferably a new used one, and will need to finance out a loan for it. I will be putting about 6,000 to 7,000 down along with my car for a trade in, which is a good chunk of money. I am part of a credit union and just recieved news that I was declined for a loan becuase I have no credit built up. Right now my parents are in the middle of re-financing our home and will be willing to co-sign for me as soon as its done. My question is, can they co sign while in the middle of the re-financing or should I wait until the process is over? In the mean time, I am going to get a credit card and build some credit but I know I will need another car within the next month or so. Any advice would be great..thanks!
My parents are in the process of re-financing and at the same time, I would like to use them as co signers?
You can buy a great used car for $6,000. Don%26#039;t go into debt for a CAR!

I am in the mortgage business %26amp; no I would not advise them to do it while they are refinancing. If the mortgage company pulls credit again- which they do sometimes right before closing- it could cause their loan to fall through due to additional debt.
