Looking into buying a cheap car?

I am currently a college senior in NY looking into buying a good used car. I only have a part time job that pays around 500 a month depending on how many hours I work so I can%26#039;t really get anything pricy. I don%26#039;t want to take out a car loan and i%26#039;m not really sure what financing is or how it work. Plus I don%26#039;t want to have to pay more money than is nessecary. Can you all reccomend some good cheep cars and where I could possibly purchase these cars??

Also I am looking for some good car insurance. I%26#039;ve only had my licence for 2 years an i%26#039;m 21. Where could I find good insurance?

Bear in mind that insurance could cost you at least $100 a month depending on the car. Unless you know someone who can lend you cash - most car purchases are financed.
