Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

My X has had two accidents and a speeding ticket in the last two years. Her insurance company dropped her. The car she is driving now is financed and as everyone knows, it must carry full coverage, but the quotes are crazy. From $200 a month to $430 a month. She used to pay $65 a month. Can anyone suggest how to get full coverage and still keep her pocketbook happy?

Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

Exactly as Celeste said, have her get all the information she can in a quote.

Since the car is financed, make sure she gets quotes for $500 and $1000 deductibles. The $1000 will be cheaper, but with her being a high risk driver, she has to decide if she wants to take that risk or not.

Also, make sure that her liability limits are what the state requires. She doesn%26#039;t have to carry higher limits if she doesn%26#039;t want to.

And no Underinsured coverage. In most states, you must carry UNinsured, but you are not required to carry UNDERinsured. Make sure she knows the difference. ( Underinsured would cover if she was in a Not-at-fault accident and the other person didn%26#039;t have enough to cover ALL of the damages.)

Take that info and shop around. There are literally thousands of companies out there that will take high risk drivers and allow you to pay monthly.

Ask about special deals such as EFT payments, Good Student, Driver%26#039;s Training and Homeowners discounts.(maybe she can take a drivers training class?).

Also, depending on her age, it may be cheaper for her to add an older driver to her insurance. You should keep YOUR insurance separate and DO NOT ADD HER to Yours. This will hurt you in the long run. But you could be added to hers if you wanted to.

Good Luck!

I had three tickets and the cheapest I could find insurance was 180 per month. She is a high risk driver now.

Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

There%26#039;s really not much she can do but shop around for the lowest policy. Since she%26#039;s high risk now, she has to pay way too much. She needs to keep her driving record clean, and the rates will go back down eventually.

Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

Yes. She needs to be a better %26amp; more responsible driver.

Sorry friend, but her experience shows that she is a much higher risk than someone without previous tickets %26amp; accidents. If she has a clean record for three years, she will be in a better postion to bargain for insurance at that time. Right now, she will probably have to pony up for her past sins.

Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

Unfortunately, she%26#039;s now considered a high risk driver. She%26#039;s going to have to bite the bullet and carry the least expensive insurance she can and wait it out until her 36 month record gets clear.

Car Insurance? There has to be a way.?

She could become self insured and carry a bond equal to the minimum limits required by your state.

Talk to your agent regarding coverages, she maybe able to lower her limits or increase her deductible until her driving record improves.

Good luck!
